| Spams Away! |

Empty bulk mail is usually the first thing I click on when checking out my e-mail. It’s just annoying to see unsolicited messages in your e-mail trying to sell you stuff you wouldn’t need anyway. Unfortunately, some legit messages get directed to the bulk mail folder as well so I’d still have to look at the sender and subject matter before I can safely click on the magic button. Junk mail and spam messages, aside from littering your inbox, are usually harbingers of viruses and spy-ware that will slow a computer down or destroy it completely. A computer is an expensive necessity that requires protection from all harm. With all the important pictures, music, movies and other files you have in it, guarding your computer is more than the sensible thing to do. With the anti-spam software I can surf the net freely without being concerned that someone is going to invade my home with trashy emails, viruses or other junk mail. I can also rest easy knowing that I am not going to be faced with costly repairs. The investment in the anti-spam software is very minor to the cost and inconvenience of having the computer serviced.
I am not very sophisticated when it comes to the workings of the computer. I know how to turn it on, check my e-mails, surf the web and write a letter or two, but ask me technical questions and you are not going to get an answer! So for me to say that anti-spam software is easy to install, you know you will be able to do it. This time I did not even have to ask my daughter for help, which is good because it was after her 8:00 bedtime. Now that the anti-spam software is in place I do not have to worry about viruses slowing down the computer. There are filters that block not only spam, but the junk mail as well.
The government has passed anti-spam laws but there are still those who send out spam e-mails that don’t bother to add the opt-out feature required by law. As far as I’m concerned, anti-spam software will cover whatever holes the law cannot cover. It gives me a secure feeling knowing that I have managed to lessen the chances of a virus passing into my computer. An added bonus is the time I get to save in scanning my mail. Those of you who’ve been spam infected should know. Receiving 30 spam messages a day is not uncommon. |
